Registered to someone in Vienna, Austria.

Odd that a Swiss school offers everything in English. (Odd unless you draw a certain conclusion....)

Oh, and this, from their "Special Programs" page:

The SMC Reward Program, is for those individuals who feel that their combined educational- and work experience alone provide them with a business background that is deserving and in line with the requirements of a post graduate business degree. SMC continuously reviews cases and if qualified awards degrees based on achievements. Individuals applying for this track must be comfortable with their experience and abilities in making this assertion.

    Sounds like they're selling a degree there..

I just posted application with them for the DBA program. Interesting how I found them to be discussed here today after doing so. Will update on my info I receive.
Could not locate what the tuition costs are for the programs. I must say that the application process was rather extensive.

English? Not sure about that now that it is mentioned. I have been to Switzerland and I asure you, English is not the chosen spoken language there.

Curriculum appears interesting and they claim to have two campus programs, one in Poland and the other in Switzerland.

Looking forward to hearing back on the application and also how to get information on the accreditation

This will cost more than US$10K. For what? A degree that cannot possibly be accepted anywhere an accredited degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) is required?

I do see where you can apply for a "scholarship," which is likely a discount for those willing to ask for it.

They require a TOEFL score! A Swiss school?

I don't see information about how one takes the courses. But, hey, they'll sell you your degree without all that anyway, so who cares!

I looked at a course description. This was under "grading policies":

    Presence: obligatory
    Participation: obligatory
    Final Exam: Dissertation paper

Even though the description talks about case studies and presentations, none of that seems to actually happen. It looks like courses are measured by one's dissertation, which is the same as having no courses at all (just a reading list).

But, gee, I guess I can't get over the fact that they'll just sell you the degree. Kinda makes the rest of this silly stuff moot, doesn't it?

If this outfit has cantonal approval, I didn't spot it. Cantonal approval, moreover, is NOT equivalent to federal recognition of a university in Switzerland, but this outfit hasn't got even that.

They do say they have a campus in Poland. Um... Why are there no links to any of their crapola in French, German, Italian, or Polish?

I definitely see your point in both accords.

In reviewing the course demo, it appears well thought out however and is delivered in modules etc. It seems i ran across this same school over a year ago, or is their another Swiss school online that I could be confusing myself with...Oh. maybe I am thinking of the Swiss Business School.

Any other info or comments as I am interested in hearing.

I haven´t ever heard of it and I live in Germany (in the neighborhood). In some cantons of Switzerland the degree terms are legally not protected. Thatswhy "Freie und Private Universität Herisau" or "Sersi University" can offer such programs. It seems to be not recognized of a Ministry of Education.

In addition it seems amusingly to me, that they offer their programs only in English language and tell nothing about accreditations or recognition also not within the European Union.
It is a clear indication that it´s not recognized.

    Rich,

What about Swiss Business School? They are IACBE accredited and EDUQUA certified and instruction is conducted in English.
