Has anyone had any experience with Regis University Online MBA program? I called today and spoke with the admissions counslor and she was very helpful and nice. The program can be completed in 14 months. The school seems to be a pretty well known school. And has been a B&M school for a long time.

If anyone can give me any input or information regarding this school and their MBA I would appreciate it.

I want to know if this is a good school in regards to academia world.

I look them up on usnews and they are rated 27 in the tier 1 schools on the west coast. I was comparing them Texas A&M-Commerce which was showed to be a teir 4 school on usnews.

    Thank You!

I can tell you Texas A&M-Commerce is AACSB accredited. Regis University is not(if that matters to you). I can actually tell you Regis U is NOT listed as accredited by any major B-school accrediting body(I checked AACSB,ACBSP and IACBE). They appear to be on the high side considering their lack of AACSB accreditation. I wouldn't use the US news rankings as a bible either.

Joe: I am currently an MBA distance student at Regis University and am very happy with the program. The classes are well led, the materials are excellent, and the support is very good. I wasn't worried about the AACSB issue but others may be. -Kevin

    Coco,

Could you please explain how the program works at Regis? Please tell me as much as you can about how the classes operate and how hard the work is etc. Antyhing you can tell me about would be great.

Also, do you feel this MBA will be accepted at any position you will apply for in your future?

    Thank You,

    Joe

Joe: the MBA program is 36 credit hours with various concentrations. Each class is 8 weeks long and 3 credit hours. After the first 4 courses you can begin taking two classes at the same time.

The workload is heavy and one class per session is enough for me with everything else I have going on. Gutsier students might try to accelerate their studies.

I like the independent nature of the courses, I started st IU-Kelley online but too much of the work was team based so I transferred after two courses. Staying up until 1am with 25 year olds on conference calls didn't work for me. Plus, it's hard to evaluate ones own performance when everything is team based.

Currently I am interviewing and naturally make note of my MBA studies. Companies such as Fidelity, Schwab, and Wachovia have all seemed pleased. I go out of my way to stress it's the same program as the on-campus MBA, Regis has been around for 100+ years, and is an innovative distane education provider.

Regis is a Jesuit school which stresses leadership, others you may have heard of ar St. Johns, Marquette, Boston College, and Georgetown. Hope that helps - Kevin

I can't speak to my Regis Univ per se but can speak a little about Catholic schools....quality of education is usually good. I did a few MBA level classes at a Catholic univ a couple of years ago via the traditional method (non-online) and the teachers were very attentive to the students. I've talked to others who have also attended Catholic colleges and they attest to the same experience too regarding quality.
