The State of Hawaii has opened an investigation focusing on Frederick Taylor International University. Any information or documents relating to FTIU would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, FTU is the first of this series to be investigated that is also a California-Approved school, operating a limited curriculum under California's jurisdiction while doing whatever the hell they want under Hawaii's. Can Pacific Western and Newport be far behind?

You are mistaken, Rich. It's been discussed here and elsewhere that PWU paid their fine and now complies with the Hawaiian regulation concerning the disclaimer re: accreditation required in advertising.
The problem I observe in these Hawaiian Eye postings: notwithstanding the explanation posting provided by Mr. Brunton, some appear to equate the investigation with automatic conviction. When the investigation results in a lawsuit against the school, it's reported here. But if the school is "clean" under Hawaiian law, there are no plans to report here. I wonder if these postings result in any relevant information for their investigations? Not the irrelevant "Go get 'em!" or "Don't like their advertising!" but actual experience with students directly involved with the schools in question. Not likely, since this forum is very limited, mostly to those that would not touch any of these schools with a ten-foot pole, with someone else holding the pole.

The investigation into Frederick Taylor International University was completed and a lawsuit alleging that FTIU and its owner violated Hawaii's Unaccredited Degree Granting Statute was filed on September 21 of last year. Both defendants have been served with the complaint and have retained Hawaii legal counsel. We are currently discussing a resolution of the matter without extensive litigation.

Does this affect their sister university, Frederick Taylor University in California?

I don't believe so. FTU and FTIU are distinct legal entities. Only FTIU operated within the jurisdiction of the state of Hawaii and the lawsuit does not name FTU as a defendant.
