This may be old news, but I cannot seem to make the search feature work anymore, so can't be sure. Embry-Riddle has partnered with NCU on a joint doctoral program. http://www.erau.edu/ec/wwc/ncuhome.html
Hmm... interesting to see how a prestigious, world-class university in the field of aviation is able to see past the criticisms hurled against its partner (from NCU being branded a "no-name" university, to accusations of bad management leading to its financial aid mess, in addition to the already existing rap it gets for being a purely online school, etc. etc.) and allow itself to be associated with a much-maligned university...
Not exactly the Embry-Riddle/NCU partnership happened before the Financial aid and other administrative fiasco's at NCU. That being said, like in any business there are many reasons to have "strategic " partners and I don't think the partnership decision would have changed if the criticism came before the partnership had been solidified. If you are looking for strange partnerships look no further than the Columbia Southern/North and West Alabama University partnerships. There are not too many RA universities that would partner with a DETC school.
