I'm trying to determine UNISA's costs for the PhD in Business Management (or Public Administration) program.

I'm sure that the pertinent thread on "UNISA PhD costs" is somewhere on this discussion boad, but I've having a difficult time finding it. As for the UNISA website, it doesn't appear to be all that user friendly (or maybe I'm just "search engine challenged")

Does anyone on this board have any idea of what the cost would be (ballpark figure in $US dollars will suffice).

    Thanks for your help!

    Doctoral costs

    Hi gang,

Unisa programs have a two-part cost factor

tuition plus levy for foreign students

    The doctorate in business is

    tuition: R4990,00

    Levy: R4750,00

Total: R9740,00 = (as of today) $1,471.00 per year.

The website claims the doctorate is "do-able" in two years, but I would plan for at least three, so total progam cost will be around
$4,500.00 USD / depending, of course, on exchange rates over that period.

I'm attracted to this school (UNISA) for two reasons:

    1. Their doctorate programs are very inexpensive compared to properly accredited US/UK or Australian doctorate programs.

    2. They're properly accredited!

However, I'd read somewhere on this forum that dealing with UNISA's distance doctorate programs can be a frustrating experience.

Has anyone in this forum completed a doctorate from UNISA? If so, how would you describe your experience? Did you experience any frustrations? If so, can you please elaborate.

(At this point, I'm considering either UNISA's PhD in Business Management or their PhD in Public Administration program).

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I requested some information on doctorate programs on Saturday night this past weekend and he responded on Sunday afternoon! So far I have just about everything filled out for the initial application. Doesn't seem too complicated to me. I can't believe the price, everything looks good to go here for a DCom or DPhil, don't like their references to their degrees much but at these prices who cares!

    Good Luck,
    Morgan
