DETC accreditation overseas...

I was curious as to what utility DETC-accredited degrees hold overseas?

Has anyone had any experience in having their DETC accredited degrees assessed by foreign qualification authorites for equivalence to their own degrees?

Has anyone tried to transfer DETC credits/degrees to a foreign college's programs or presented their degree for graduate entry into a foreign school?

I am curious as to how much utility DETC-accredited degrees have outside of the United States. Anyone who could shed some light on this question is welcome to answer. Thank you.

    Hi,

In Canada, we mainly look at RA schools for admission into graduate programs but this could be always negotiated with each faculty but I would expect problems for admission with a DETC degree as schools normally don't carry books of DETC accredited schools.

Well, from a Canadian perspective too, I know that DETC is not considered a legitimate accreditation body in Canada.

You will find that Canadian schools are very selective when it comes to admissions. Not only does DETC not make the grade, but RA does not guarantee admission.

Someone who holds an MBA from RA schools like Phoenix, TUI, NCU or the like will not likely get into a PhD program at a Canadian university like Toronto, British Columbia, Waterloo or Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. It's just not in the cards.

You will find that Canadian schools choose admissions on an individual basis.

Although I agree for the most part of it, this could be negotiated with the University on an individual basis. Let's say that a student with a BA from a DETC school is applying for admission to an MBA program in Canada, while some schools might refuse the student others might offer conditional admission provided they complete a qualifying program. This depends a lot on the faculty as well, but in general a DETC accreditation would be hard to sell for a graduate school.

DETC-accredited degrees (and NA degrees in general) are completely useless in Germany!

No German university accept these degrees and DETC-accredited degrees are never accepted as equivalent to German degrees.
