    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. Here is my scenario. I am currenly going to be a senior in college, I only need 2 more classes to graduate and already have 170 credits and will end up graduating with over 200 and a Finance degree. I also have been working full time for the last 5 years and have started several of my own businesses. I am looking for a PHD program that I could potentially join without needing an MBA, I dont mind doing a lot of reading or doing research and have a topic picked out already -Financial Marketing & Operations; inefficiences in todays banks - I really dont want to take many classes and if possible would like to avoid all classes and stick to reading and writing for the degree. I also need it from an accredited school. Can anyone help me out and pass in the right direction? I am open to creative ideas...and if possible an MBA if it can be done without too much time, I have a lot of time this coming year and would like tohave a PHD by the end of it. I can researce, read and write very well when I need to...thanks...

Many MBA choices out there but all will require some time to complete.

I don't think you're realistic in thinking you can earn a PhD over the next year without having any graduate level courses already.

There are many DL doctoral programs in business that allow bachelor's-only admission to the doctorate. You will, of course, be required to accumulate the same number of grand total credits as the doctoral program admittees who came in with their master's degrees, and they will award you your MBA on the way to your PhD. For example:

Capella University (www.capellauniversity.edu) offers a PhD in Organization & Management that requires 128 qtr hrs, with those already holding MBA degrees needing to complete only 84 qtr hrs.
Northcenbtral University (www.ncu.edu) offers a PhD in Business Administration that requires 81 sem hrs, with those already holding MBA degrees needing to complete only 51 sem hrs.
Walden University (www.waldenu.edu) offers a PhD in Applied Management & Decision Sciences that requires 134 qtr hrs, with those already holding MBA degrees needing to complete only 78 qtr hrs.

And Ray is right - you should expect more like three to five years on a PhD.
