Appeared just recently on CalBar's list of correspondence law schools. It's operating under a temporary permit from BPPVE. The law school faculty claims a surprising number of LL.M.s and an S.J.D. I haven't had a chance to look at their backgrounds. The school name is a little interesting. The blurb sounds something like a secular version of Oak Brook. They even put their J.D. program into a School of Law and Social Policy. Looks like their other-than-J.D. programs will grant "experiential credit".
It's owned by a Nigeria. I believe that the real owner is a former dictator who ruled Nigeria for about 8 years. He also established another university in Nigeria that has the same name.
Heritage I looked at the faculty qualifications as well as the message from the president. There are a few faculty members with J.D.'s from my law school, Western State Universitywhich is now ABA as well as a few MBA's from RA schools. I am not as thorough as many on this board in doing my due diligence but from what I can surmise this school looks like it is serious in it's attempts to gain DETC accreditation. The DBA program looks challenging and at $330 a unit it is not cheap, though not prohibitive. Also, they require actual transcripts from other schools attended in order to evaluate your application. While I doubt that they would turn too many people down, I like that. I am still, ( Have been for while now ) in a quandry as to where to do a DBA. I don't really need RA since it would be for my financial advisory practice , not academia but I will look at a minimum for a DETC type of accreditation or an institution that at least is serious abour pursuing it. I looked in UNISA but they will not guarantee me that I will not have to travel to SA. I have no desire to fly anywhere for 14 hours and I have secured a class advisor position at Pepperdine in the MBA program which will lead into an adjunct position so my previous education will suffice for that. As allways I value the experience and opinions of everyone on the board. Thoughts on this school?
Thanks, Dr Ike. From the involvement of many Ogiamien family members I figured it was IB, but wasn't sure.
