How timely, we were just talking about this residential requirement on another thread.

    Other changes.

I'm taking the Liberty MBA. So far I have been highly dissapointed with the Financial Aid office and Military Affairs office. FA office treats you like a burden when you ask questions, and with very few correct answers. I wanted to use FA for the summer semesters and one rep told me it was illegal to use student loans in the summer. Finally was told I could use by someone different, only it was to late.
Military Affairs office proccessed TA forms about 12 weeks into the semeser. The funds I guessed were unavailable to me since my stuff was procssed so late, so now I am still waiting for the credit.

    Just displeased.

This is surprising to me. I've been enrolled on and off since 2002. I have used military tuition assistance and corporate tuition assistance and I have not encountered any difficulties. Furthermore, I have always dealt with a single point of contact, my advisor, for registration and any other administrative matters. In my experience, Liberty University's customer service has been flawless.

And everything that could go wrong with FA/TA has gone wrong.

My first semester I faxed over my TA for my advisor. She never forwarded it to Military Affairs. I emailed and called numerous times to verify she had recieved it. Painstakenly after about a month I get a "yes." Moving on into the second part of semester I emailed again to find out the status from Military Affairs office and they claim it was never recieved from my advisor.
    SO
I emailed and called the advisor numerous times, never got a response, she ignored all contact. Never got an apology, nothing.

This past semsters all went wrong. FA was basically reduced to 1/3rd the orginal amount. TA form was faxed 3 months after class start date. A month later goes by, I contact the 90th and they state the school has not sent the TA form to them for processing! It's been 5 months so far and I guess due to lack of funding, I am last on the list to get funding.

Maybe I am on the hit list there. They seem disorganized with few people doing their job.

A side note, I tried contacting the Director of FA several times to verify the "illegal summer loans" statement and both email and phone messages were ignored.

If I wasn't so far into the course I would transfer.

A day late and a dollar short...

This is the only reason I didn't go with Liberty University for my MBA, had this not been a requirement I'd be in their MBA program now.

    Thanks for the information.

    Liberty's invilgators - experiences

I always found their Christian-based MBA more than exactly what is needed in this world now.
What are your experiences with their proctors? I remember my MEd studies at Wollongong, and the whole stuff with the invilgators was more tiring than the actual exams.
What are your experiences with Liberty's MBA exams/procters?

Their website still says one week residency required. Seems like they would be quick to remove this from the website if they had dropped this requirement?

Alas, proctored exams are currently not part of Liberty's MBA program. Instead we have timed open-book online exams. The final grade is comprised of the online exams, one or two research papers and discussion board posts.

I completed the first half of the program prior to the online format. At that time we did have proctored exams. The student was allowed to nominate a proctor subject to university approval. I always used my local test control officer, as I was on active duty at the time.

FWIW. I’ve found the online exams to be at least as difficult as the old proctored exams.

Tuition Fees for MBA at Liberty

    Hi Folks,
I am little confused of the fees at Liberty. At GetEducated, the fees is listed as 10,260 = 36 * 285
    http://www.geteducated.com/articles/TopMBAReg.htm

    Whereas at Liberty.edu site, it says 365*36=13140 + 125=13265.

So, does anyone know, which is correct. Was the price increased this yr by $80 /credit....this is ripoff, damn!!!

Is seems MBA distance education is now becomming a money spinning wheel for these school, so, they enjot squeezing students....I am sure many would flare on this, but $80/credit is a big jump.

Amberton university offers an MBA program online. Tuition is only $600 per course and you may transfer 4 courses. The only downside is that amberton university does not participate in government financial aid programs for students.

    thnks

    Thnks raristud,

I am aware of Amberton. But as liberty has some better subjects, and one can finish it faster with 8 week sessions, I was more intrested in it...But...I have to spend on tuitions from my own pocket, thus the concern of these price increases...I am hunting for chepare RA schools offering finance courses. Thnks.

East Carolina seems to have a good distance MBA, anyone taking courses there. I need to hunt more information about that program. It being a state school, I wonder how many are rejected?
