Is there such a university in the USA? Somebody just "graduated" with a PhD from Camden as publised in a congratulatory AD in the local newspaper recently.

If you mean this Camden University then, yes, it exits as an incorporated company in the State of Delaware USA. This means that it has a file of incorporation papers sitting in a cabinet in some lawyers office in Delaware. It DOES NOT mean it is a licensed or accredited university in the USA - it is a company.

    Cheers,

    George

There's a legitimate Rutgers University campus in Camden, New Jersey, often known as "Rutgers-Camden". I don't think they offer PhDs though.

More likely you are dealing with "Camden University USA", at www.camden-edu.com. It has regional "centres" in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Florida, and England.

"Camden University USA" appears to be unaccredited in the US. It does not appear to have RA or NA accreditation in the US, and its engineering programs do not have ABET accreditation. Since it is unaccredited, its degrees are of questionable validity.

Ok lets not dance around the subject if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it is a duck! If it looks like a mill, from the website http://www.camden-edu.com/ acts like a mill(names unheard of and unknown accrediation) it must be a degree mill!

Thanks for the info. It seems that Malaysia is now becoming a main base for diploma mills

Too bad that country doesn't have the same punishment for diploma mill operators as it does for drug smugglers. I'm not saying I'd necessarily want any mill operators to suffer that fate, mind you. I'm just saying that such a punishment would certainly drive 'em outta' there in a big hurry!

Relax everyone, the school is real, it's not a mill. The school offers more flexible options YES and it's not accredited NO, but I've go to tell you something, I'd rather pay 200 per. credit than 500 - 800 per. credit for my degree. It's just way too expensive to get an online Masters degree. So this works for those who really can't afford that high priced degree. I find it funny people bashing everything. I have a degree from a Prestigious school, it got me ZIP, my 100K wasted, so isn't that ironic.

Instead of being happy for them you are trying to discredit them, funny,

I assume you graduate from Breyer State University, and also the operator of Camden University USA. Graduates from prestigious colleges do not write like the way you do.

But a master's degree from a laser printer costs even less (even if you spend extra for color printing). And it will have just as much legal recognition and validity as a degree from Camden University. So the laser printer is obviously a more cost-effective solution.

Gosh, how shocking :yikes: A newbie opens up a thread that's been dead for years in order to promote a degree mill. If our new friend spent 100k on his degree only to find himself unemployed then, in my own opinion, it says more about him than it does about his degree.

Camden is unaccredited most probably an Asian operation.

The web address is registered in Malaysia.

Camden claims to be incorporated in Delaware as a non-profit organization. But even if this is true, it is meaningless in terms of degree-granting authority. It does not make them a recognized Delaware university.
