    Hi guys...

As a proud mom, I just had to share...

After only two semesters at a B&M school, my 19 year old daughter decided that the traditional way of taking classes was taking FAR too long for her tastes. I told her about the 'big three' a while back and suggested she take a peek at this forum to help her decide which way she wanted to go. (She has a conglomeration of CLEP credits, AP credits, online classes and 'sitting her butt in the desk in the lecture hall' classes.)

I am proud to report that she will be earning her bachelor's degree from COSC in December at the ripe old age of 20 and then plans to get an online MBA, followed by law school at a B&M.

I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree...she just started a whole lot earlier than her mom did!

This is a classic case, no? The child listens to the parent. The child benefits from the parents experience. The child has enough respect for the parent that she actually makes some serious consideration of what the parent says (the ultimate triumph).
Good for you all! Nice work!

My deepest congrats!!! Good job on being a great mom! It must be a great feeling! I have no children and will never have any, but stories like yours warm my heart! I am sharing my knowledge of the big three with my martial arts students, many of who could not afford college otherswise.

    Best wishes!!

That has to be at least one of the things that makes this such a nice moment for you, Marylars. Congratulations... to you both!

    Thanks, guys...

You're right...I am, indeed, one of the lucky moms.

Thankfully, we made it through the 'my mom doesn't have anything of value to share with me' stage a lot more quickly than many of my friends and their daughters. By the time she hit college she was starting to see that her mom made a little sense.

I think a big part of it is that I have been a single mom almost forever and she has watched us go from struggles to success -- together -- and came to realize that her mom really does know what she is doing! :)

And I would like to add...she made a GREAT choice of schools by going with COSC.

Great story! Maybe one day my kids can do the same. It'll be cheaper.

Isn't it amazing how much one's parents learn by the time one reaches ages 18-22?
