    Hi all,
I'm very interested in UAT (University of Advanced Technology) as my source of education, whether I choose to take their online route or relocate to go to their campus. I was wondering if anyone had any good or bad comments about the university and their accrediting organization the ACICS. Thanks

Apparently, there have been recent threads on University of Northern Virginia and Florida Metropolitan University that address the issue of accreditation by the ACICS, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (www.acics.org). Apparently, there seems to be some thought that ACICS accreditation may have more limited utility than RA in that there may be some RA schools that would not take ACICS credits in transfer just as there are some RA schools that don't take DETC credits in transfer. All of which is not to say that UAT is a bad school. UAT is an accredited school and ACICS is an accredited accrediting agency. * It is just that you may wish to find out from further schools that you may wish to attend down the line whether they will take your UAT credits in transfer. - Theo.

    * In order for an accrediting agency's accreditation to be any good, that accreditation agency needs itself to be accredited by USDOE - the Unioted States Department of Education (www.ed.gov) and/or CHEA - the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (www.chea.org). ACICS is accredited by both.
