Anybody know of an online graduate certificate in Economics? I'd prefer an American university, but Britain, Canada, Europe and Australia would be fine, too.

SOAS has Graduate Diploma in Economic Principles - see http://www.soas.ac.uk/studying/courseinfo.cfm?courseinfoid=120

LSE has a Diploma in Economics for Graduates - see http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/prospectus/prospectus_dip_grads.pdf or http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/undergraduate/dip_grad/economics/index.shtml

These are both at undergraduate level, so if you already have a background in economics and want to go beyond that then you'll need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, both SOAS and LSE are likely to be worthwhile and challenging.

    Henry George Institute

The Henry George Institute offers very cheap courses in Political Economy. (20 dollars each) Books are cheap and much of the material is online. They have a series of 3 courses -you receive a certificate past each course and a Certificate of Completion after all 3 are completed. They are based on the theories of Henry George -interesting , not mainstream thinking .
Courses are Understanding Economics, Applied Economics, and Economic Science. The courses are stimulating and the instructors respond quickly and with comment to your questions. The Institute does not award credit. From their website:A certificate is given at the end of each course. (Note: the Henry George Institute is not authorized to grant academic credit. Any granting of such credit for our courses would have to be taken up with the accredited institution with which the student may be associated. Information on our courses will be provided to such institutions They'' ll work with your college to obtsin credit if desired. I 'd recommend if one wants to take a look at the human side of Economics and the real reasons for poverty in the world.

Yes, I just bumped an ancient thread. Anyway...

Does anyone know of any online graduate certificate programs in economics? All I've been able to find is the one offered by Georgia Southern.
