I am looking at TUI and NCU and have letters from both. I need to borrow $20,000 and because NCU doesn’t participate in federal loans, the interest is an extra $9,000 over 15 years. Because I feel the programs are similar, should I choose TUI because of this reason? Am I missing something?

Nine large is a big reason.

I can't imagine a thing that would distinguish NCU from TUI. The only difference between the two is the TUI-Touro College connection. But even if the money difference was in the other direction, I don't think that distinction is a big deal.

Seriously, is there anything different about either of these schools to warrant nine grand? IMHO, there isn't much difference in the two degrees' efficacy. Perhaps whatever differences there are between the two schools methodologies could be a factor, but nine thousand dollars' worth? I wonder.

    Thank you rich

Thank you for confirming my thinking. I was on the same path and agree with the application of the doctorate, once I get it.

I got my MS from TUI and went with NCU for my PhD because of money. The way it orked out for me, NCU was a better deal for the PhD based on cost per class, continuous enrollment, and my company's tuition assistance policy.

It really does not make much of a difference. Both schools are properly accredited and neither is ivy league.
