You may be interested in a master’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I don't know if they DETC accredited but hopefully an RA status will work for you. The link is below. http://www.erau.edu/ec/dleo/degreenondegreecerts.html
ERAU and NCU are partnered BTW - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has a partnership with Northcentral University (NCU) where you earn a master’s degree from Embry-Riddle and then can you apply the degree towards a PhD in Business Administration with an aeronautical specialization: Partnership link: http://www.ncu.edu/niche_market/landing_page/default.asp?niche_id=1618
Not sure if this is what your looking for? http://amu.apus.edu/Academics/Degree_Programs/DegreePath.htm?paid=3308&concID=3255
My understanding is DETC schools are able to award up to 9 credits as PLA towards the master degree. I have over 23 years in the aviation field on defferent jobs. I would love to be able to get 9 credits and then finnish then finnish the other 27 credits. This is the reason for a DETC degree. Carlos
Value? Carlos, I don't want to start a fight here, but hear me out. My opinion, which is only my opinion, is that you should stick with the RA. With the experience and time involved in your career, a degree like the Master of Aeronautical Science (MAS) is worth considering. One reason is that the MAS is a terminal degree and would allow you to teach at ERAU. And with the specializations that you could choose, it might help career wise or even open other teaching opportunities. And there are other Master options also... Depending where you live, ERAU has residence centers (about 130?) all around the world, near bases and major airport areas. Might be one near you... And then there is the distance program if the residence center isn't an option. Once again, only my opinion... Good luck
Another recommendation for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I've not attended but being in the Military I've had many friends attend and they have had nothing but great things to say about their programs.
Here's an interesting new program that might work for you...a masters degree in aviation safety through Saint Louis University. Saint Louis University Oh, and I agree with the previous posters. You would be MUCH better off sticking to RA programs.
Hi Carlos, I'm not sure what PLA means but I assume it is prior learning assessment. While it is true ERAU does not offer this option in their MAS program you might considerthese points: (1) You can transfer in up to 12 semester units (I transferred in 9 units of management from my MSQA degree), (2) Your experience might make some courses easy (MAS 690 for example), (3) The MAS has some elective courses in which your experience could be used (MAS 590 and MAS 699). It might be worth your while talking to ERAU. Best wishes in your search.
This is a 30 unit degree, only 3 more units than what you are looking for. (The ERAU MAS degree is a 36 unit degree).
Ok folks, you have some good points. I will look into the SLU "Master of Aviation Safety". This is why I love this site. Thanks Carlos
Another option is Delta State's Master of Commercial Aviation. It is 100% online, RA, and inexpensive ($156 per credit hour). http://www.deltastate.edu/academics/bus/cav/MCAhomepage.htm
