This is a follow up to post a few months ago. Basically, I applied to law school after finishing up my degree through AIU online. I was a little concerned how it would be accepted in the higher academic community and I was for the most part pleasantly surprised. Here are the results.

    Accepted:
Florida State -University w/$4k per year scholarship
Stetson college -w/Full Ride scholarship + $1k stripend
University of Florida -no word on $ yet
    Wake Forest -no scholarship offered

    Waitlisted:
    George Mason
    Boston College
    University of North Carolina

    Denied:
    Vanderbilt

Overall I did better than I expected with an AIU degree. I was really surprised that I recieved a waitlist at UNC. I am an out-of-state applicant and I applied late in the cycle so a waitlist was a nice present. However, I was a little disappointed in Vanderbilt. They flat out rejected me based soley on the fact that I went to AIU. I spoke with a prof. on the admission comitte and he commented on the fact that I lacked "depth and rigor" in my academic studies. I think that was a polite way of saying "we think AIU is one step away from a degree mill". BTW my LSAC calculated GPA was 3.87 and my LSAT was 163.

    Congratulations!

I know nothing about law at Stetson, but a full scholarship is nothing to turn up one's nose at, and anyone would certainly be proud to have a law degree from any of the other's mentioned.

Quite an accomplishment. Good luck in your studies.

    Do DL and Degreeinfo.com proud!

I know Stetson is a well repected school here locally.

I believe that it is ranked as one of the hidden gems in one of the Bear books. I'm pretty sure that I remember that.

Be there no doubt: Stetson is a very good law school... and pretty much right in your back yard, to boot.

And, on top of that, a free ride? Plus a stipend?

And still you're wondering where to go? It's Stetson for you. Do not pass "GO." Do not collect $200. Go. Straight. To. Stetson.

...before they change their minds. ;)

I have to agree. Stetson is a top notch school. To me this would be a no-brainer decision. Second choice would be UF.

Stetson University is the oldest law school in the state of Florida. It is highly respected and has roots here. Congradulations.
