Ok I had been plannning to attend Texas A&M-Commerce up until I found my fianaces are going to run about 9K short! so I figure I can afford Northern Alabama,CSU-DH and possibly Mississippi State U. The Issue I have is although I am an experienced manager I figure I am going to be switching fields. I am wondering if I should bother at all if I am not going to get the ROI, I need to start paying off my B.S. and MBA degrees.

If you're considering attending full-time, it's a good year to apply, even as late in the application season as it is. Apps are down at a lot of schools, and as a result, schools are being very generous with financial aid (scholarships, fellowships, assistantships, etc.). If you have a good GMAT score, there are a lot of programs out there accepting applications, even past their published deadlines. Good luck!

Have you looked into Amberton University? At $600 per graduate course (not hour, course), they're about the least expensive RA option for an MBA program.

You are an experienced manager and you're going to be switching fields. To what? As a manager, do you get tuition reimbursement benefits? Most DL programs participate in the William D. Ford Direct Loan program (a variation of the government's old Guaranteed Student Loan program that makes tuition-only loans to DL students, based on need) or Sallie Mae (Student Loan Marketing Association) loans (a private program, based on your credit). Many offer their own internal loan programs (and internal scholarships, as well). Go to your local bookstore or library and find a scholarship book. There are many, based on your employer, ethnicity, major, religion, trade association, or union, just to name a few possibilities. Also, find a copy of Dr. John Bear's book on non-traditional ways of paying for college and grad school. Take heart! You'll get through it!

I haven't considered Amberton because it's relatively unknown and I was looking for a college people may have aleast heard of, it will get me in for a few more interviews. It is not that I have no money just realized some money I was counting on isn't going to be there. I estimate that I will be able to afford about $12-13,000 plus expenses(e.g. books) .

And Yes Ted the benefits in my field SUCK so there is no such animal as tuition reimbursement of any type.

Morehead State University out of Kentucky has an AACSB accredited MBA DL program. Costs is around $14,796 with no pre-reqs. I am currently in their program and though I have been accepted to other schools, I am happy with the curriculum and the classes I have taken to date, so I will be staying at MSU. Good luck on your search.
