Because John Bear is off being adventurous, Tom Head and I would like to announce the almost-publishing of "Bears' Guide to the Best Education Degrees by Distance Learning." It will be available from Ten Speed Press in August/September 2001 and is now available for viewing on Amazon (with an incredibly long URL):
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1580083331/qid=994398844/sr=1-2/ref=sc_b_2/104-8762237-3986346

This book is for teacher wannabes and education professor wannabes and anyone else who thinks that they would benefit from a teaching credential, BA, MA, Ph.D./Ed.D. in education or an education-related area.

Authors: John Bear, Mariah Bear, Tom Head, Tom Nixon

Note: We are in the process of fixing the accuracy of the Amazon site (like they left out Tom Head's name! Sigh...)

Thanks for listening to our bragging!

Congratulations to you, Tom H, John, and Mariah, I'm sure this will be a valuable addition to the essential DL library.

You guys just have to slow down with these books, my Amazon bill is getting to be a killer! [IMG]

    Congrats to all involved.

And the rumor I heard that it was delivered to the publisher on time and in good shape... according to John, a first or near-first.

From some of the posts I have read, perhaps it is time for:

Bear's Guide to the Easiest Degrees by Distance Learning.

Or with the expansion of degree granting institutions on Norfolk Island, perhaps a volume titled: "Degrees From Down Under by Distance Learning." Maybe Peter and George could co-author this one.

So, are there many places that offer credentials via distance ed?
