This is something I've been meaning to do for quite awhile, so here is my inaugural effort. I plan on adding NA programs, as I have the time & inclination. Comments, suggestions, additions, etc., very welcome. http://www.angelfire.com/ma4/cjdegrees/degrees.html
Grand Canyon University offers a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Administration. (PSA) http://www.grand-canyon.edu/online/index.htm http://help.gcu.edu/enrollment_agreements/BS-PublicSafetyAdmin.pdf
Bruce, I found an "ooops!" University of California-Riverside should be University of California-Irvine! This idea is long overdue! Great work!
Thanks guys, for the additions and correction. This is definitely a work in progress, so all help is appreciated!
DL Criminal Justice Programs This is a very useful resource. It will save potential DL CJ students lots of time and effort. Thanks Bruce.
Very Cool, Bruce! That's a great list! Long time coming. I don't see Saybrook's Cop-Doc degree, but it may not be what you are looking for. UNCW advertises a criminal justice bachelor's but it's hard to get info on the website. http://www.uncw.edu/extended_ed/ KVU has another here... http://www.kyvu.org/learning/viewprogram.asp?SendCipCode=43.0103+++&SendFiceCode=00199900++&SendSequenceNumber=32&Discipline=&DisciplineName=&SendProgramTitle=Master+of+Science+in+the+Administration+of+Justice++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++&SendOfferedBy=&PROId=593 Not exactly CJ but related... http://www.nu.edu/Academics/Schools/SOBM/ProfessionalStudies/Degrees/760-000.html This may be a better direct link to the BU program... http://www.bu.edu/disted/online/online_course_master_of_criminal_justice.html I hate this school's name, but: http://www.cup.edu/graduate/crj/index.jsp I hope some of this helps with the site. Thanks for your efforts! Dan B
Cool list, I like the background!! I have a question for you. I am actually asking for a friend. Does Charter Oak State College grant credit for a police academy training? I have a friend who is a prison guard in Texas, he wants to start a DL program to pursue a Bachelors degree in CJ. If Charter Oak does not grant credit for police academy training, do you know of any other ways he can obtain credit for it? I would appreciate any advice you can give, Thanks, Abner
Excelsior College awards credit for many police academy and other law enforcement training programs. You can search for approved training programs on its criminal justice page.
Thanks! I will let him know. Do you happen to know if he can just start off with the Associate degree in CJ at Excelsior?, or would he have to go straight through to the Bachelors? Just wondering, thanks. Abner thanks a lot!
Re: Thanks! I don't believe that Excelsior offers Associate degrees. If that's what he's looking for, Thomas Edison State College has a program for him.
Bruce, Good work on the CJ degree compilation list. Here's a couple other programs that may be worth adding to the list: Undergraduate CJ degree programs: Northwestern State University (A.S. in CJ/Online Degree) Troy University (B.S. in CJ/Online Degree) Upper Iowa University (B.S. in CJ/Online & Correspondence Degrees) Colorado State University-Pueblo (B.S. in Sociology-Criminology concentration/Correspondence Degree) Graduate CJ/CJ-Related degree programs: Chaminade University of Honolulu (M.S. in CJ Administration/Online Degree) Saint Leo University (MBA-CJ concentration/Online Degree) Troy University (MPA-Justice Administration concentration/Online Degree) Upper Iowa University (MPA-Justice Administration concentration/Online Degree) abnrgr275
Thanks abnrgr275, links added! I've also tinkered with my list of NA programs, all suggestions, etc. welcome again. http://www.angelfire.com/ma4/cjdegrees/nadegrees.html
