This unaccredited school is interesting. Heavily steeped in classic preparation (literature, politics) and appears according to one of their newsletters to be approved for VA Benefits. Looks to have a conservative orientation.

Anyone have any information about DeMille or the school? Some google links seem to connect it with the Mormons and some sites note the homeschool connection. One site said it began as an offshoot of Coral Ridge Baptist University. Rather an interesting combination.

One of their other newsletters on the site notes that they are building a new campus and seemed to have done well with donations for it.

On another note, a newsletter article notes the case of a person who graduated from GWC and was accepted to OU law school (exception made based on performce and preparation).

Any of our Utah residents have any information about the school or perceptions of it in Utah?

How come the faculty or staff (or other) bios generally don't list the colleges or universities (other than Wythe, of course) where they got their degrees? Or precisely what their degrees are in; or when they got them? Why do the photos in said bios look a little like they're from a "stock photo" CD? Why are some of the "institutions" or "think tanks," etc. -- like the "Meadeau View Institute," for example -- where some of them allegedly worked or distinguished themselves, produce few or no Google results; or, when they do, they're... well... odd? Why are only the same four or five people's bios clickable throughout the site? Why does a search on many of the names listed on the site (such as its Board of Directors or its Law faculty) produce either no Google results; or, if they do, they're few and/or odd?

That's all the further I chose to explore. The whole place just strikes me as odd, for some reason. I'm sure, if I took the time, I'd find said reason. In the meantime, it doesn't strike me quite right... for reasons I can't articulate at the moment.

There seems to be a Scientology connection of some sort, too. If so, then that, to me, just about says it all. Scientology and Scientologists -- to the last of them -- are knuckleheads and I would just about kill (figurately, of course) to have them up and sue me for saying so... as they're so famous for doing.

Wythe would be about as likely to get my nearly twenty-five grand for their silly "PhD" program as I would be likely to be able to broadjump the width of Lake Michigan... running start not withstanding.

    Sheesh!

Two things - can anone provide some information about "Coral Ridge Baptist University"? I have been unable to find much information about it, but there appears to be some connection between it and George Wyhe (I have noticed several people with degrees from both).

I also found this court transcript where

Curious that George Wythe college, which appears to be "Dedicated specifically to building Statesmen" would award a PhD in health sciences.

It also appeared to have a midwifery school as well as teaching Biblical Studies and education. Another one in alternative health sciences, business and biblical studies.

Perhaps there were two George Wythe Colleges, or they have certainly shrunk.

They do appear to currently offer a Master of Arts in Education, however they don't list anyone that teaches in that field.

I noticed the issue with faculty as well. Usually not a good sign. At one point I almost wondered based on the money raised (?) for the building if they were tapping into some classic conservative/homeschool/ folks who were willing to support the building of the school.

There were some links where DeMille has gone to various functions as speaker, etc and a prof who is the editor of a magazine (e-zine??).

I must have missed the PhD in Health Sciences. I do not recall seeing it.

It is very curious. I am not sure what to make of it and I have to agree that no one is going to fork out 25,000 who has a clue about what is available.

I have not contacted them about VA benefits as I am not interested but I am curious how they got them and are they rehab benefits or the Montogmery GI Bill. Except for a couple of unaccredited religious schools that were grandfathered (and those only for the on site programs), the VA is pretty strict these days. ACCS could not even get approved for VA Benefits until they got full accreditation froma recognized agency (GWC does not have this).
