As a holder of a RA BS in engineering, does it really matter if I
get a UG Cert/Diploma in theology or is it better to get
a postgraduate one? My intent is to further my own learning
with the possibility of pursuing a masters degree in theology, but
    not the M.Div.

Thoughts, Ideas, wrappers off of candy bars anyone?

    MA might be a possibility

You might look at getting a MA or a MTh, instead of the M.Div. the M.Div is generally a 80 + degree for those seeking ordination, while the MA - M.Th will help toward other directions. MA would be 36 + hours while the MTh will be 60+.

Check out Hope International University for a good, RA accredited MA.
