I am new to this discussion forum, but I have read every “single” posting in it. I am stunned at the amount of knowledge that everyone has here, as it is clear that many of those reading wish to be attorneys-at-law.

I am also in the same boat as many of you: I have a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, but seek a J.D. degree for advancement – but have no time to complete it in the traditional sense.

I want to attend a law school that can work around my schedule, but none of them do. I am left to use distance learning as my only option.

In contemplating my dilemma, my very first question comes to mind: What states allow non-ABA w/ LL.M (ABA) degrees practice law?

I read that Arizona does, but is California and Arizona the only ones?

And, one more thing if I may, can someone who attends a non-ABA J.D. transfer to an ABA J.D. in for the last year? – Perhaps eliminating this ABA problem….

Oh, I also heard that if someone has a J.D. either ABA or non-ABA, they can still practice in federal court without the ABA needed -- is this true?

    Thanks,

    Scott
