I haven't seen much discussion of this, but it sounds like NTU is going to be changing directions somewhat and in addition to merging with Walden University they will be developing courses themselves instead of contracting other universities to develop courses. My contact at the University of Florida told me that they are no longer contracted for classes after the current semester. Also, it sounds like NTU will be trying to develop a PhD program; however, its unclear what field or fields this will be in. I'll be keeping my eye on this merger.

Will NTU be allowed to keep a separate identity for purposes of offering degrees, etc., or will all of the NTU programs begin offering Walden degrees?

From the posted article it seems that NTU is going to become the NTU School of Engineering and Applied Science of Walden Unversity. While I have no knowledge one way or the other I would expect that the degrees would be issued from Walden University -- but that is just a wild guess.

It's now advertised in big letters on the NTU web site:

"NTU School of Engineering and Applied Science at Walden University"
