I have decided that I would like to integrate a creative writing component--poetry--into a theological degree, or do something similar such as combining a study of theology with poetry and music.

To that end, I am looking into programs offered by London Bible College and also Wales-Lampeter's MA in Theology for Ministry degree.

I would welcome suggestions and information on other schools offering such options.

I still feel drawn to systematic theology since I believe this discipline asks questions and seeks answers concerning the most important aspects of life, but I also wish to incorporate the arts into this study.

    Thanks!

Hmmmm... Except for the Sturt Th.M., I'm drawing a blank.

Though you might try one more thing: look at a program in systematic theology and see if it will accept any out-of-field credit. (Some master's programs will accept up to 6 hours, and others might accept more if they're gratuitous and aren't necessary to fulfill credit requirements.) You'll end up doing extra work for your master's, but your transcript will show the arts study.

Er, I hope everybody was able to translate that from Pidgin into English. Sorry; had a rather busy day and I'm zonked out, so the little gray cells aren't working.

And anyway, at the rate we seem to be running across new programs, one of us might run across an interdisciplinary Th.M. in systematic theology and the creative arts any day now.

Lampeter is an excellent option, IMHO. Excellent staff and a friendly atmosphere, by all accounts.

    Tom,

Can you tell me more about the Sturt option?

When I was in contact with them earlier, one lady told me that they would not accept offshore students; however, a Professor Palmer sounded as if he was open to the idea. When I told him of the response from the lady, I didn't hear from him again.

What do you make of this?
