Yeah so m early experiences were great. My first class was great. But lately I have become fed-up with GCU's apparent inability to respond to communications. Also, after promises of LOWERING tuition, they have raised it.

Since I was already accepted at NAU (I applied to both at the same time), I think I am going to transfer as I have never ever had an issue with NAU. Since financial aid transfers and my GCU courses transfer, I think this will be my way of getting back at GCU. Shame because there is so much potential there....

GCU MBA to NAU M.Admin looks to be in the cards.

    Hi beachhoppr

Sorry to hear your troubles at GCU. Is it your professor or the administration there? From my experience with GCU, they seem so student focused. Is it worth advising a higher up there and then see if you get resolution?

    Just a thought.

I am sorry to hear of your difficulites with Grand Canyon University. You should be happy with Northern Arizona University. It is a very fine school.

The consistent problem I am having is getting questions answered. I will contact people, they will pass things along and no one ever contacts me back. To be perfectly honest, this is about the 4th time I have dealt with this with them. As a student, the only thing I can do to get their attention, per se, is to threaten (or actually) to transfer. Since NAU has already accepted me, I think I am going to take the later route rather than get frustrated about it. Plus the tuition thing irks me...not that they raised it but that they raised it after making a big deal about LOWERING in in the fall of 2005. I guess as a for-profit now, that would not have been good business?

Educationally, I was not unhappy however...

I'm sorry for your troubles and wouldn't fault you for switching if you thought that NAU was a better fit. However, if "getting back at GCU" is part of your motivation for switching then I'd suggest you re-think it. They won't care. I'm not saying that in a negative sense, I'm just pointing out that people drop out of school programs all the time for many, many reasons. They will barely notice that you're gone and it's highly unlikely that they'll get all introspective and begin wondering, "Was there something we could have done better to hang on to Beachhoppr?" In any case, good luck. BTW, do they still have that giant statue of the Lumberjack at the NAU football field?

Jack I agree with you. Getting back is all in perspective...like boycotting a product in the grocery store; no real impact but you feel like you did something in protest. I am just angry that they dont have the common courtesy to respond and that they lied about tuition.
