Every now and then I see a thread that deals with the Graduate Theological Foundation in IN. Recently, I have noticed that a number of graduates from there are stating in bios something like this: "John Doe earned his D.Min at the Graduate Theological Foundation at Notre Dame University, South Bend." Or "Jane Doe was awarded the Ph.D in Liturgical Studies from GTF, Notre Dame University. Is the GTF part of Notre Dame!?

No. Perhaps they rented some classroom space from them at one point. Whoever is listing their degrees noting a relationship with Notre Dame is either being deceptive or is mistaken in their understanding of the relationship.

    Musicprof,

Like Notre Dame, GTF is in South Bend -- and like Notre Dame, it has decidely Catholic and/or Anglican underpinnings (though it thinks of itself more as non-denominational) -- but that's where the similarity ends. GTF is, currently, in South Bend's old "Tower Building," across from the civic center and the Holiday Inn... a mile or so South of Notre Dame.

If GTF claims affiliation with anyone, it's Oxford... which affiliation has been decried here in the past.

    Brad,

I'm glad to see that you posted to this thread. Maybe I just didn't search right, but I was unable to find GTF-related threads here where you chimed-in. I'm terribly interested in your opinion of GTF, just generally. Care to share -- or point me to a thread where you already have -- either here, or privately via email?
