Hi: I am interested in applying to an online MBA program and need financial aid. I work full-time, hence it is very difficult for me to take on a load that consist of more than 9-12 units. Ideally, it needs to be at 6 units or 2 classes. However, it seems like most of the master's programs consider 9 units and above a full-time load before you can qualify for financial aid. I've just completed a BSc program through Bellevue University and used financial aid. Their program is a year round, continuous, one-class-at-a-time format. It was considered full-time and hence, I was eligble for financial aid. I am thinking of A&M Commerce for their MBA program. Can someone help me by letting me know what I can do re: schools and financial aid. Thanks. FYI...for those who are thinking of Bellevue Univ. It's GREAT. I went from there UoP and the experience was night and day. I had such a bad time at UoP that made me go out to find another school and I'm so glad that I found Bellevue.
Hi Matt, The great majority of online MBA programs I have looked at to qualify for financial aid. The requirements are at least "half-time" study, which is usually at least 6 s/h per semester, although there are quite a few programs that have compressed schedules allowing you to take a single 3 s/h course every 7-10 weeks and still qualify. Matt- I am currently enrolled at Touro and take two classes per term (8 credits) and I received financial aid. Talk to the financial aid counselor at the schools, they should be able to help with question like these.
