Kensington was one of the few schools operating as "Authorized" in California to become approved when the law changed in 1989. According to BG14 their re-approval was denied in 1995. They set up an address in Hawaii, but still run things from California. That's where the fax machine answers. According to their website, tuition may be wired directly to their bank in Glendale, CA.

It is likely California won't do anything about this because they consider Kensington a Hawaiian school. Hawaii has a requirement that schools have a physical presence in the state and at least 25 local students enrolled. Finally, Hawaii requires unaccredited schools to state such on their promotional materials, including websites. Kensington does not appear to meet any of these requirements, yet there they are. Of course, maybe they've "moved" from Hawaii to some other, even less rigorous state. Their website doesn't indicate a mailing or physical address. Montana, maybe?

Giving these people money for a diploma is the same as burning it.

Kensington University has a nice advertisement in USA Today, however, no school listed in this publication is properly accredited (i.e., USDoE recognized accreditation).
