I'm looking at going back and getting my master's degree in CIS. Has anybody taken any online classed at either place or heard anything good or bad or any other recommendations? Thanks.
Regis: 124-year-old nonprofit Jesuit school with a solid reputation as a traditional university. Phoenix: 25-year-old for-profit school best known for its nontraditional programs. Both schools are regionally accredited, so neither degree is anything to sneeze at -- but if I were looking at them in terms of reputation, I'd probably go with Regis. Good luck! I forgot to mention another plus for Regis: its MSCIS was designed in consultation with Sun Microsystems. Peace, ------------------ Tom Head www.tomhead.net
I agree with Tom. Regis would be my choice. Aren't they less expensive as well? At the undergraduate level Regis is a top tier school in it's category. So you are getting a reputation and some added standing behind the degree. http://www.usnews.com North
Look at the University of Redlands in California - they have a new MSIT program, I've heard that it might be their first on-line venture. - very traditional school - look under Whitehead College Mike
Ah, but MSIT in this case stands for Master of Science in Interactive Telecommunications. Program details are available at www.redlands.edu/whitehead/academic_programs/msit.htm Cheers! Lowell Kinzer
For what it's worth, I believe that actor-comedian Bill Murray is a Regis alum. (Not by DL, though.) Bill Dayson (who attended the same school where sportscaster John Madden went to graduate school.)
Hey, cool! Speaking of SCTV alumni... Turned to my local NBC affiliate the other night, and saw a very young Harold Ramis telling me about the Famous Philosopher's School, where you can earn a degree in (Sally Struthers voice) "Metaphysics, logic, ontology, ethics, or epistemology." Philosophers "can make as much money as some poets, so request your free brochure today!" Gotta love it... Peace, ------------------ Tom Head www.tomhead.net
