I'm just wondering if there's any other Stratford Career Institute Students such as myself here:D Plus, I'm a newbie too. If so, what course are you taking and do you like it or not?

What are your impressions of SCI? For instance, what do you think of their course content & relevance, student services/support, etc.

I thought about SCI way back when, but I'd to hear some actual experiences in case the time came when I may recommend a program to someone.

Good questions. Well, the course load is overwhelming at first. But like w/any other DL school, you can space it out and take as much time as you need. As long as it fits the 12-18 month range. Their support services are not bad. Phone is faster of course. Email takes a while. And sometimes they won't answer your question by email so you'll end up calling them instead. You get all the suppliest & textbooks in the mail and you have a choice of taken your exam online (which I love) or sending it by mail. You get the results instantly when you do online. Like right when you click the "submit" button, the results are right THERE on your screen! It's great. I'm loving it so far. I'm learning everything I need to about my course and I know where to get help when I need it. Just would like to get to know other students like myself, that's what kinda stinks about DL I guess. To not talk to somebody on the same wave-length of learning. But I all & all, would reccommend it definitely. Hope this helps!

I'm familiar with the instant grading with Grantham University. I absolutely loved that. There was no anticipation (other than a few brief seconds) and there was definitely no "Oh, crap how did I do on that test? Did I pass? I hope so. Man, when do I get my grades?" So, the anxiety relief alone was worth it.

Grantham does offer a business administration degree that is open enrollment AND self-paced. I completed a course a week at times. If you'd like more information let me know.

I complete courses a week at time too. But now the work load's a lil heavier so it's more like a week and a half. I never heard of Grantham, but it sounds good. That would be cool if you gave me more info on it, if you really don't mind. Thanks very much! If Fashion Design doesn't work for me, then Business sounds like a good alternative. Just wondering, if you got anything wrong on your exams, did they tell where to find the correct answer at?

Grantham's tests are open book. Your classes work like this. You received a textbook accompanied by a course guide. Each course guide offers a synopsis for each chapter. Also in the course guide are the tests. You simply read the chapter or skip around if you are able and then fill in the multiple choice answers. After you fill in the answers on your course guide, you simply log in and click the appropriate answer on the online grade sheet. You will know which question you missed, but it doesn't tell you what the correct answer is.

Wow, interesting. Sounds easier too. The courses at SCI can be open-book too but I like to know that I'm LEARNING something. And they tell us where to find the answers after in the text book. I don't want to take something for granted and just get good test scores out of it. But thanx for the info. Definitely gonna check it out!
