This morning’s Wall Street Journal had an advertisement for Thunderbird’s On-demand MBA (starting September 2005) http://www.thunderbird.edu/students/degree_prog/global-mba-on-demand/index.htm The brochure is here: http://www.thunderbird.edu/pdf/academics/On-Demand_Brochure_Final_1.pdf There is an on-ground component, but the majority of it is online. Tuition is $52,500. http://www.thunderbird.edu/students/degree_prog/global-mba-on-demand/tuition-fees.htm Thunderbird has always been an innovative school with a strong international focus; I wonder when their competitors will be offering similar programs?
Thunderbird Their on ground programs are tremendous... I am right around the corner from them in Glendale. But US News and World Report listed them LAST for return on investment. The programs are very very very costly.
Re: Thunderbird I too saw the ad and was curious about the new format. If I was to ever do another MBA (can't imagine why...!) as Santa Clara has come into its own these days... I would consider this program due to the international reputation. A good friend of mine did Thunderbird about 25 years ago and I think the international focus is even more relevant today... Still, it's an expensive program. Dave
Re: Re: Thunderbird One of the newer trends in MBA education is the "post mba." And Thunderbird has one of those, too. It is a certificate program that is like a refresher or will enable a person who was in marketing to specialize in another business function. Watch for more and more of this.
MIT/Sloan has a similar post-MBA program. About $14k over six-weeks. http://mitsloan.mit.edu/execed/epp/courses/certificate-program.php
Re: Re: Re: Thunderbird The Thunderbird post-MBA allows one to add a Masters in International Management by building on the previous MBA. Interesting program. Too bad that it isn't designed for DL delivery like the On-demand MBA: http://www.thunderbird.edu/students/degree_prog/otherprograms/postmba.htm There is also a Certificate of Post Graduate Study that looks interesting: http://www.thunderbird.edu/students/degree_prog/otherprograms/cert_post_grad.htm The Sloan program looks like a seminar rather than an academic program.
