    Hi:

Has anyone had an admissions application and official evaluation done by COSC? Here is what their website says:

"An official evaluation provides you with the exact information on how all of your credits fit into our degree requirements. If you matriculate within 90 days of the evaluation, $135.00 will be applied to your matriculation".

For me, I think this is a good idea because I have a lot of units from a variety of places. I would rather have the official extensive evaluation done for $190.00 because they say it provides the exact information on how my credits would fit into their degree requirements.

From what I read on the COSC website, I believe I can request this evaluation without being a matriculated student. I am guessing the clock starts ticking when a student becomes matriculated, in other words, if I take longer than 1 year, I have to pay $570.00 (non-resident) in order to continue beyond one year.

I would appreciate any comments or advice. I guess my main question is, it appears I can request the evaluation without having to matriculate? Am I correct?

    Please advise,

    Thanks, Abner :)

You can request the eval and not matriculate. If you do matriculate with 90 days ( I think) you get a portion of the eval fee towards your fees.

It took five weeks before I recieved my "Official Evaluatiion" back from COSC. However, I felt that it was anything but official. I was pretty disappointed after paying $190 & waiting 5 weeks for something I could have done myself. The "Official Evaluation" included: how many transfer credits they accepted & the ones that were denied, a hand written draft copy Concentration Plan of Study, and the name of my "Advisor" (Turned out to be NO help at all because according to him his job is not to advise - I'm still scratching my head!!!). To say the least, I am pretty disappointed at the whole COSC process.
