    Hi:

This may seem like an obvious question, but I will ask it anyway. I took an Intro to Law Enforcement class at a Community College. I assume it would be a waste of time to take the Intro to Law inforcement CLEP test because it would be duplicative, is this correct?

I am guessing I would be safer taking the Criminal Justice CLEP test. I would appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Abner

Unless you can show clearly by course/test description that they are substantially different, they will probably be duplicative credit.

    CLEPS

    Hi Coach:

Do you think the Criminal Justice CLEP test would be considered duplicative also? I assume you mean both tests. I am trying to rack up credit to transfer into COSC, I am currently a University of Iowa DL student pursuing a B.A. in liberal studies. I like UOI but the pace is much to slow. Thank god I stumbled onto this forum where I found out about the Big Three.

I'd Expect that Criminal Justice and Intro to Law Enforcement are not duplicative in a criminal justice degree program context.

I haven't read the exam content though so your best bet would be to ask at the school you're interested in.

Too, if the cost isn't a factor, you could just take the tests and submit them. I have plenty of duplicative credit from when I was in the Army and these tests were free.

There is an issue at COSC about the order you take tests in. You may want to clarify that with someone who has been through their process.
