Hello, my name is Norah and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Kent in Canterbury - UK. I am currently researching on the effect of copyright laws in developing countries access to distance learning material and would appreciate any thoughts that any of you have on the matter.

In particular would you please give thought to the following questions.

1.what are the present priorities in distance learning in your country? (Main areas of learning, providers, learning modes etc.)

    2. Many have hailed the Internet as the panacea of education access problems. How relevant is this statement to the situation in your particular country or any developing country?

3.What are the biggest obstacles in ensuring provision of quality distance learning material in your country?

4.What role does copyright law play in the preparation of course packs and access to educational material both online and offline? Please give specific examples where applicable.

    5. Kindly suggest any reform you would have made to copyright laws as under the TRIPS Agreement to better accommodate distance learning or other alternatives to go around copyright laws.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. Your answers will be used solely for the purpose of this research and full acknowledgment will be given where applicable.
