Hypothetically, what if one were to get an AS in Marketing at Ashworth (DETC-accredited), and then go to Bellevue to get a BS in Marketing Management (regionally accredited). Would it then be possible to pursue an MBA at a regionally-accredited school, or would the DETC AS pose a problem, even though the BS is regionally accredited?

You should be fine that way. I'm curious about Bellevue taking DETC credits. Since I didn't have any, I didn't look. Do you have a link handy regarding this? Much obliged!

    Bellevue's website only mentions this:

Bellevue University grants credit for college-level learning that a student has obtained through sources other than college classes. Students may be granted credit for college-level learning acquired outside of a regionally accredited college setting. Assessment of such learning will be conducted or validated by Bellevue University based on the standards promulgated by nationally recognized educational agencies such as the American Council on Education (A.C.E.), the Council of Adult and Experiential Learning (C.A.E.L.), the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS), The Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, and the Council for Higher Education (C.H.E.A.).

Procedures are in place to assess student learning from:

    Non-regionally accredited institutions
    American Council on Education recommendations
    Corporate training or programs
    CLEP/DANTES tests
    Experiential Learning Assessment

But American Military University, DETC-accredited, lists Bellevue as a university which has accepted it degrees and credits. I plan to contact Bellevue myself and specifically ask about Ashworth. I was just curious as to whether the DETC credits would affect further study in an MBA program.

By the way, I did notice Bellevue also offers an MBA, so maybe it's a non-issue if I pursue an MBA there.

Has anybody here done what I have mentioned...taken an undergrad DETC degree and then got an RA bachelor and masters degree? How much difficulty did you have transferring to the RA school?
