Hi all, Can any one give me a comparison between the PhD program in Computer Science in UNISA and University of Pretoria. I have already contact UNISA but I was disappointed by their slowness and ignorance to my questions. It seems as if I am begging them to accept me. Whereas when I contact U of Pretoria their reply was immmediate. So if any body can tell me about the acceptance of U of Pretoria degree for teaching in university and all information they know I will be grateful. Regards Omran
You are the second person I've encountered who has described an unpleasant experience in applying to UNISA's Ph.D. program in computer science. Reputation-wise, there's no significant difference between the two schools, or at least there isn't from a U.S. perspective (if anything, Pretoria's reputation might be slightly better in the hard sciences); UNISA might be a little cheaper, and it's certainly been at the distance education game longer, but if you can swing a nonresidential Ph.D. with Pretoria, it should serve your purposes as well as a UNISA Ph.D. would.
