Can anyone please tell me what is the best clep books to use in studying for the college mathematics and college algebra tests. Thanks...
I used the College Algebra guide from the Harcourt Brace College Outline Series, and did extremely well on the test. I am not a math whiz by any stretch of the imagination. I just followed the guide and did the example problems. Also, it took me only 2 weeks of studying apprx 1 to 2 hours a day to complete the book. Hope this helps!
The princeton review cracking the CLEP is a great book, here is a link to buy it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0375752129/104-0541420-2703926 Also, check out the following links: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html (The official CLEP site, with study guides, and all the info on how and where to take CLEPS) http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10843&highlight=unixman (his thread was started by an individual (unixman) who has taken many CLEPS and offers quite a bit of sound advice on the how, what, when etc..) www.instacert.com (great study website for CLEPS, not free!, seems much better for subject exams than the 6 credit general exams) www.purplemath.com (good algebra study site, also has financial calculators, tutoring service links, etc)
I'm currently studying for this test. I'm using Algebra Demystified, College Algebra Demystified, and the REA Clep Algebra study guide. I also rented from Netflix the following DVDs: The Standard Deviants Pre-Algebra 1 The Standard Deviants Pre-Algebra 2 The Standard Deviants Algebra 1 The Standard Deviants Algebra 2 Nadine
