I am enrolled in Excelsior. There are a handful of courses that I am not going to test out of and need to take. For example, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Database Management, Business Policy, etc. I realize that Excelsior offers these classes online, but they are 16 weeks long! I prefer classes speeded up a bit. I used the course search on Excelsior to look at colleges they have partnered with, and none of the classes are accelerated. This is what I am looking for:

    1. A regionally accredited non-community college
    2. Allows single classes to be taken for the purpose of transferring credit to another college
    3. Classes are accelerated
    4. Class is 100% online

Money is not an issue. I think that UoP may fit the bill but would like to know if there are any others...does anyone know of any that fit the above criteria?

    Nadine-

Have you looked at LSU (www.lsu.edu) or Indiana University (www.iu.edu)? They both have a large amount of classes that are self-paced and either online or correspondence. Hope this helps.

I have looked at those colleges and many others. I guess I should stress that the most important thing I am looking for is that the class be acclerated. If it is not, I might as well take it at Excelsior.

    Nadine,

You mention two-year schools so please remember that Excelsior gives only lower-level credit for courses from two-year schools.

Actually in my criteria I stated "non community college". I am not considering two years schools.

Have you try Troy University http://www.tsufl.edu ?

    10 weeks per term
    5 terms per year

can take up to 5 classes per term.

About 25 classes = 75 credits per year.

    100% online.

$150.00 per credit....I rather go with Troy than UoP. I can complete Associate degree at UoP within 5 weeks; but I chose not to....for a reason.

    :)

I absolutely agree with you about shorter terms, I've taken my last few classes through Limestone college which has 8 week terms online, and that has worked very well for me. Here's a few schools with shorter terms that I ran across in my search:

Baker College - 6 week terms, $155 per credit (quarter system)
Registration deadline about 5 weeks before classes start.

Columbia College, Missouri, 8 week terms, $175 per credit

Ft Hays State Univ, 8 and 16 week terms, $103 per credit

Limestone College, 8 week terms, $660 per 3 unit course

Park University, 8 week terms, approx $600 per class.

Southern New Hampshire Univ, 8 week terms, $720 per class
