    Hi:

I was browsing around at a list of tests accepted at COSC. There are a few tests listed as TECEP, what does this stand for?

    Please advise,

    Thanks, Abner :)

    TECEP exams

Are TECEP exams similar to CLEP or DANTES tests? Are they multiple choice in print, or on a computer? Are they as difficult as CLEP or DANTES tests, etc.?

    Thanks, Abner

One more question, call me crazy, but I thought I read somewhere that textbooks can be taken into the TECEP exams? Please advise.

    Thanks, Abner

    Hi Abner,

TECEPs, at least in my experience (I have taken two), are paper-based exams.

For the English Comp I exam that I took, you could bring in a spelling aid (text or electronic) and a handbook such as Harbrace. This exam required essay responses.

For the Introduction to Operations Management exam, no materials were allowed except for a non-programmable calculator. This exam was comprised of 100 multiple choice questions.

If you look at each exam's fact sheet (e.g. http://www.tesc.edu/catalog/tecep_desc/OPM-301.pdf or http://www.tesc.edu/catalog/tecep_desc/ENC-101.pdf) you will see the type of exam, number of questions and topics.

    Cheers,
    Mark
