University Rankings

    Everyone likes to say they went to a "top" school but even if you accept the rankings, you sometimes need to be careful regarding how the rankings are compiled.
    Do you want to say you went to a school that had a low student / staff ratio or one with a high teaching quality assessment ?
    Sometimes the differences in rankings can be very significant.
    For example, the University of Bath ranks #9 in the UK overall according to the Times. However based only on TQA the school drops over 30 places... well within second tier category.
    You definetly need to use this tool intelligently or you may not be getting what you think you are.
