Given the US News ratings of Business Graduate schools, is there a school rated higher than Arizona State University that offers an online MBA with no residencies? In my own search I couldn't find a school which met this criteria. Did I miss any schools?

No, Duke, Emory, Purdue and Indiana are all rated higher and all offer MBAs via distance, but they all require at least some residency. Although I think Indiana's is pretty minimal.

    Ooh...

I bet some people in Sweden are really embarrassed about this little blunder.

Thanks lil' faus. I justed wondered if anyone else had looked before. I'm not looking to enter an MBA program for 2-3 years; however, I want to keep an eye on how DL is advancing in the top schools.

Bill -- can you translate what I assume to be humor for us dense tech types? I'm still trying to figure out what Sweden has to do with Dr. Prescott's award. Can you bring me up to speed?

My guess is that what he's referring to is the fact that the Swedish Nobel was awarded to a prof who dared to teach at "one of those schools" that does that dang online education schtick.

Not sure, though. Is that it, Bill?

that's it. Prescott actually did his work elsewhere (Minnesota, I believe) before moving to ASU.

oops, except for 1 week residencies at the start of each year. Does that really pose a problem, though?

Arizona State University just isn't good enough, but the chairman of their economics department wins the 2004 Nobel Prize in economics. That must be embarrassing for the Nobel Prize committee.

The prize is formally known as 'The Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel'. The body that awards the prize is the Swedish Academy of Sciences. The award ceremony takes place in Stockholm. The guy who hands the winners their prizes up on the stage is the King of Sweden.
