I’m in the process of studying for the Humanities CLEP test using the below references:

Humanities study Guide by Sheryl Spencer (the one off EBay)

2 practice tests (paper) downloaded from the Peterson’s web site. 300 questions

2 computer based practice tests from REA’s CLEP test preparation book. 280 questions

1 computer based practice test from 4tests.com. 25 questions

I have read the book by Sheryl Spencer several times and seem to be scoring in the high 60’s on all tests. I’m getting about 120-130 questions correct on any given test so I seem to have about 500 or so of the 600 questions imbedded in my brain. My question, is anyone familiar with the above references in regards to passing the Humanities CLEP? I’m thinking of staying on my current study track (6 hrs per day) and take the test next Tuesday. Any thoughts on my plan? Thanks for any input or insight.

6 hours per day for the next week? If you're hitting scaled scores in the 60s in practice tests, take the exam now! Most schools grant credit for this test at 48 or 50.

    Good luck!

It sounds like you have a good plan, and you are probably able to pass the test if you take it right now. But, if you are looking for another Humanities study guide, I suggest the one published by Comex. The study guide is similar to cliff notes in how it gives an overview of each area on the test. I used this guide exclusively and passed the test with a 590.

    Hope this helps.
