Sorry for an apparently silly question but help would be appreciated...

A promotion will be coming up in my job in the summer which I will almost certainly get if I have a degree. I have been told that a degree from an American regionally accredited university will do. I have been studying Theology and History (with education) and have almost finished two years of full time study in Ireland. I really want this promotion. So I need to speed up the degree.

I spent hours this week going through the bain4weeks website as well as the gre and big 3 sites and read almost every post on this forum. Would I be right in saying the following..

I can do the gre in psychology in April here in Sweden (hopefully 30 points, presumptive I know ), I can do 10 courses in history/humanities on the CLEPS exams in london in the summer and hopefullty through portfolio work( done s lot of work in schools and church - not to mention a few courses here and there) I am hoping another 30 points. I am surely good for 40 points for two full time years(out of 4 - its actually more as we were squeezing a course that normally takes 5 years into 4, taking the same number of classes and exams) in university plus a minor professional qualification in accountancy. Does this all make sense?

Sorry for asking silly questions but I am not familiar with Distance Learning too much (I figure I will not have too much difficulty with the study and exams) and even less familiar with the American system of points etc.

Also which of the big three should I apply with for the quickest results. I have approximately $6000 to $7000 dollars to spend. I have applied today to ECE for conversion from the irish system to the US system.

Is their anything else I need to be doing or am I doing soemthing wrong already. If anybody needs more infromation please feel free to ask. Sorry for the long post

It looks like you're on the right track to me.

Thanks AV8R but I really need to know from those people who have been through this which of the big three is best (I have almost half counted out Thomas Edison based on some of the comments from a few people on here already.)
    Again thanks in advance

My opinion - Charter Oak is the best.

Charter Oak worked best for me. I think that the maximum credit that you can earn for the GRE in Psychology at COSC is 18 hours.
I did not do any portfolio credits. Maybe someone else can address that issue for you.

I think I have seen it suggested someone in your position apply to all three and see which ends up giving the most credit and which would be quickest to finish. That makes sense to me!

If you are planning to acquire units (points) through testing, then Excelsior could be your best option. Excelsior awards a maximum of 30 units for successful completion of a subject GRE exam. I do not know of any other regionally accredited institution that will award a higher amount of credit for a single examination.

    Thanks Tony,

It seems Excelsior looks like the most likely option right now with all those points for the GRE exam. I have studied some psychology before at university and should be OK with the study for it. I have six weeks. This on top of the fact that there are very few CLEP exams I can take between now and May here in Europe.

Does anyone know where in Europe I can do the ECE exams or even the AP exams. It seems from the website that these sites don't exist unless you are in the military.

    Thanks again
