    Hi Revkag:

I read their website. The accreditor is unknown. The language of the website is semiliterate. The seal is theologically confused. The appeal is to piety (of some sort) versus knowledge. There are certainly more solid options in the evangelical/fundamentalist/pentecostal spectrum, including some in Florida.

Others on this board who are on the spectrum noted above can, I am sure, make some recommendations which will serve you well.

If you can tell us what degree you are interested in, along with any specializations or denominational distinctives which are important to you, we can suggest options with greater clarity and greater appropriateness to your wishes.

Welcome aboard and best of luck to you.

I am interested in a doctorate in pastoral ministries, biblical studies, etc. I have an undergratuate and graduate degree from regional accredited schools.

I know what I want to do... finding a school that allow me to do it is the next step.

The program needs to be distance learning, reasonable and allow me to specialize in the area of small church revitalization with priority to small, rural communities. ETS seems to be willing to let me to this, but I want to make sure they are a credible place of study. I have spoken with the director of the Florida Council of Private Schools (Colleges?) and was assured that they were, but their website is down, so I have been unable to check on their credibility, either.

    Rev Kag,
I would suggest you look at the University of South Africa, the University of Zululand or wait a couple of months and look at South Africa Theological Seminary. I think either of these schools would accommadate your wishes. And, note on another thread that Falwell's Liberty University just hired a person with a DTh from the University of South Africa.

You can do better than this amateurish place. I am certain of that.

Check, for starters, the website of TRACS (Transnational Association of oh, whatever the rest of it stands for); it accredits only evangelical-fundamentalist-pentecostal spectrum schools. IIRC, Midwest Seminary in Missouri (candidate, not fully accredited but clearly on its way)and Temple Baptist (accredited)in Tennessee offer DL DMin degrees with brief residencies (1 week per year?). There may be a couple of others with TRACS, too.

The SA schools Howard mentioned can also be good options.

I have e-mailed the two SA schools for more information... I am really excited about the possibilities!

I, too, am/was looking at ETS as an option. The degree program I am interested in is the Christian PhD in Church music...and that's all. So far no one has been able to come up with anything accredited in that area. By the way, my master's is from the old Clayton University in St Louis.

The Florida Council is a private organization and really doesn't add to a school credibility. Among their members are recognized accredited schools and schools not very highly thought of.

I would certainly look at the other options others have already mentioned, such as SATS and TRACS.

Would some of you who are more in the know than I am please check out the website for the Florida Council of Private Colleges website. They do seem credible, while being out of the mainstream...
