Their web site saids most courses are developed by one of the five prestigious universities. Although this seems a selling point, but the MBA is not AACSB accredited and pretty expensive compare to other non AACSB MBA.

What do you guys think of how well the MBA from NYIT is accepted by the industry? Is it better than a normal state university MBA(some of them are AACSB accredited)? I wonder if it is worth for the extra bucks because of it is a private college in NY, or just same as one of those low tuition MBA listed in geteducated.com (e.x Cameron University...).

    my opinion

    Hello Kieth,

I chose to enroll in this program for several reasons. In my opinion program is as good as, if not better than it's regionally accredited competitors such as UoP, Walden, Etc. But if you compare it to an AACSB accredited school, I don't think it competes.

Ellis' connection with the 5 tops schools was a major selling point for me because that indicates that the courses have some level of prestige. But that's not all. I also was very impressed with the way information is presented in the online format. The web site, animations, presentation, ease of use, and functionality of the delivery system was very impressive in my opinion. From what I've heard, NYIT has a decent reputation and did not hear many negatives yet.

I don't feel the tuition costs are that much more expensive than others of it's kind and caliber. To me, it falls somewhere in the mid-range. Perhaps I am taking a risk going there but I feel confident that the Ellis MBA degree will be valuable to me and my career. There are so many options out there and this one feels like a smart one.

At least it better be because I start my first course on Monday, Feb. 14!!!!

    Kind regards,

    Q_C,

I talked to Ellis College and ask for speaking to a former student in IT industry, hopefully they can fine someone. Did you talk to a former student about how is the degree recognized in the industry?
