Hello all, I am looking for feedback on Kennedy Western University. Wanting to complete my B.S in Bus. Admin. I am concerned about the fact that I just learned they are not regionally accredited, only state licensed. My brother finished his degree there and was satisfied, but I would be interested in any feedback anyone has to offer about the program and whether I should be concerned about them not being accredited. Thanks everyone in advance.

Id never recommend a person to get a KW degree... could get you serious problems in the future, there are pretty cheap and decent DETC schools... why dont you check Aspen University or CalCoast that just received DETC accreditation?
    good luck

There is a great amount of information about Kennedy-Western here. It is neither regionally nor nationally accredited, so there are issues if you ever wish to transfer to an accredited school.

As you will be able to tell by searching around this forum, Kennedy-western is not held in very high esteem. there are many, many superior choices available.

Think of the excited Robot with the flailing arms that were like "Slinkys"; (the childrens toy), from the 1960's TV Show "Lost In Space".
Now repeat "Warning Will Robinson! Warning, Warning!" while thinking of K-W

KWU is a degree mill. They were recently investigated by a Senate hearing on degree mill use.

Do a search of degreeinfo and turn up more than you could read in many days probably.

Since the search function was broken here, you can go to Google
-> Advanced Search -> fill out the domain field with degreeinfo.com and the exact phrase field with Kennedy Western University

In addition to be fact that their degree carries almost no academic value. More than one student have complaint about their business practices, it seems that once you sign up they don't let you off the hook that easily. They will try to get their money at any cost and make it hard if you want to opt out.

Satisfied students claim that they got their "experience" transferred and only required to complete 5 or 6 classes to get a degree. But the fact is that anyone coming out of the street gets the same "experience transfer" so in fact it is a 6 classes degree program. Much less than the requirements of some schools for a certificate program.

Whew! I was just about to add yet another K-W warning until seeing your post above. Some schools, like K-W are not accredited at all, others 'create' their own accreditors that are meaningless because they are not recognized accreditors. Any credits earned from such schools are likely to give you problems in the future, whether you are trying to further your education elsewhere or trying to gain employment or a promotion through use of those credits.

If you are confused about accreditation (if so don't feel badly, most people are) then check any future educational choices at the CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation) site. They list colleges, universities, and trade schools that are accredited by recognized United States accrediting organizations. If you don't see your choice on their list then that school is not properly accredited. Here's the link:
