    John,

I mentioned it in another thread but I do seriously hope that you will write your memoirs at some point. You have wonderfully humorous anecdotes which would make great reading. Some of them, like the South African one are interesting looks at history & politics. I am sure you can obscure the names of individuals and institutions in order to avoid litigation.

The former mayor of the city I grew up in wrote a very controversial book about city politics after he left office. The book was listed as fiction, and no instantly recognizible names were used, but anyone remotely familiar with the political landscape knew exactly who the characters
were. Some of the names were humorous, like another former mayor whose family business was tires. He became "Waldo Reecap". [IMG]

The book was "A City Under the Influence" by Joseph LaRaia, but I think it's been out of print for years.

If anyone is interested, there are (at this moment) six used copies available from various small booksellers which I located via Bookfinder.com, ranging in price from $6 to $35 per copy.

For those who haven't discovered it, Bookfinder is an amazing, noncommercial resource started by a then-UC Berkeley student who loves books. It searches something like 2300 book search engines representing something like 40,000 small and large used book stores, including giants like half.com.

You can find almost anything through them.

(And I have no financial interest in them, just like to pass on info on great resources provided without cost to help people find what they need.)
