Is Greenwich University in London a Royal Charter School? There is a Professor at Jacksonville University who has Degrees in Education from this School.
There is indeed a royally chartered University of Greenwich (Greenwich University) in the UK that has no ties to the Greenwich in Hawaii/Norfolk Island. I'm not sure it's in London, but it almost certainly is; the only Greenwich U connection in London was with Greenwich School of Theology, which has never awarded degrees, or even tutored in a field other than theology. This should read "the only Greenwich U (Hawaii) connection." Right now, the University of Greenwich, Greenwich School of Theology, and Greenwich University (Hawaii/Norfolk Island) have nothing to do with one another. Gosh, this is confusing. Peace, ------------------ Tom Head www.tomhead.net
Hi, One might almost say "Greenwich" is the at the centre of the world's education ... ever heard of GMT or zero degrees longitude (which is based at/from the Royal Observatory, Greenwich - London) ? Cheers, Neil
Dr. Hynd writes, "One might almost say "Greenwich" is the at the centre of the world's education ... ever heard of GMT or zero degrees longitude (which is based at/from the Royal Observatory, Greenwich - London)?" I'm trying to understand the connection between the zero meridian and "centre of the world's education." The only connections I see between the town of Greenwich and world education are that the former West London Polytechnic, renamed University of Greenwich, is there, and presumably has some foreign students; and John Walsh of Brannagh, owner of Greenwich University (Norfolk) was born there.
Brings back memories of listening to the shortwave radio with my father (he collected QSL cards) and hearing that GMT chime (or whatever it was). North
