    Hello,
I was browsing a travel/study abroad forum and a poster there had a dilemma about transfer credit. I didn't get many details from him, and he left this morning, so I'm not sure that I'll hear much from him. If anyone can post some helpful information, I'll be sure to post it on the other forum in hopes that he'll check it.

He is planning to study Spanish in an immersion program at one of the many language schools in Guatemala. I'm not clear whether he had discussed the credit transfer with his (post-graduate) school in advance, but it sounds as though he had. However, a few days ago, his school informed him that they would not accept the transfer credit because of the current US public announcement concerning safety in Guatemala. He is confused and frustrated, but in the end he decided to continue with his trip, hoping that when he arrived safely back in the US, he could plead his case with the school at that time.

Does anyone have any information concerning this? Any resources that he might look into to help him earn his credit? I know there's not much information here, but anything you can offer would be helpful. (I'm also considering an immersion program in Guatemala, so this information would interest me as well.)
    Thanks,
    Shawn
