This being my first post, I would just like to say "HELLO" to all. This forum is very informative and I'm glad to have found it.

I am pursuing a career in Law Enforcement with the FBI. At this point, I don't have a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice or any college degree for that matter.

I'm 29 yrs. old and have spent most of my adult life in the military. I received an honorable discharge in 2000 and have been working in the security/investigation field ever since.

    To reach my B.S.degree objective....

I'm considering a full-time attendance at either Saint Louis University (Missouri) or Rooselvelt University (Chicago)....which are both B & M institutions. The Criminal Justice B.S. program at either school is 4 years and requires a full-time attendance.

Also, This would translate into me having to quit my current job because the work requires frequent traveling around the country. I will have no problem quitting if this is what I must do.......money is not an issue but TIME is my main concern...(I'm certainly not a young buck anymore). I just feel a little anxious because I'm a little "behind in the game".

Finally, the alternative choice would be to pursue an degree online. I feel a little apprehensive about this option because of the bias surrounding these schools.

What are your thoughts...and what would you do if you were in my shoes?

Pauly, I would recommend continuing your education via on-line distance learning and remain working.

A BS in Criminal Justice from an RA school would be the smoothest route into the FBI. You will likely find the 5-week or 8-week format the most beneficial as you can cover more courses each year while only studying one or two courses at a time. There are others on this forum who have earned degrees in Criminal Justice so hopefully they can offer you advice as to which school(s) are most appropriate for you.

Good luck in your educational and future employment goals.
